The back box may be more quite, if a smaller one is installed. It may also be quieter if there was a bend added to it.Ê
No.
It shouldn't sound at all! That box at the back is called a "silencer". Get it? It's there to stop you annoying people...
An exhaust system expansion box allows for the cooling of extremely hot air. The hot exhaust is cool in the expansion box before exiting the tailpipe.
Water box is designed to create back pressure for the motor and also to muffle the sound of the exhaust.
easiest way would be and exhaust and air box lid. The TRX's are way to restricted. If you get an exhaust make sure u have the jets adjusted
It will depend upon the make and model of the car and also if you need the rear box, the front box or the whole system.
to keep the water from getting through the exhaust back to your motor.
3.0L, you remove the air cleaner box to access.3.3L, you reach from underneath along the exhaust to access.3.0L, you remove the air cleaner box to access.3.3L, you reach from underneath along the exhaust to access.
You need to take the car back to where the exhaust was fitted. It's quite common to need a couple of goes at aligning the system, most likely cause is the rear box needs the clamp slacking and push the box on a bit more to clear the rear panel. It takes very little contact to make a dreadful noise. The engine flexes over under accelleration and moves the exhaust back and forth in it's rubber mounts.
No, it will just sound loud. If you remove the cat pipe then it will affect fuel consuption. If it's just the back box, it will just sound boy racerish. Answer- Having done this myself I think there was an effect on fuel consumption. By replacing the back box and replacing it with a sports exhaust you are increasing the air pass through in the engine and if you get more air in then your ECU should put more petrol in to keep the mixture the same.
its to reduce noise
with some modification possible, otherwse it wont be a direct fit
