If there is equity in the workplace, it means that everyone gets equal treatment. They also get equal pay for doing the same job, as well as the same opportunities for advancement.
'Equal opportunities' is a well used phrase mainly used in the workplace. The aim is to offer jobs to those most qualified and not for irrelevant reasons such as race, age, sex, religion, disability and ethnicity.
There is no reason for employers to do so. Employers subject to Title VII provide equal opportunity. Raising employee awareness is irrelevant.
