A crack in the pool pump can not be fixed permanently. Silicone and sealants may fix it temporarily, but it will need to be replaced.

To fix a crack in diamond brite plaster, start by cleaning the area around the crack to remove any debris or loose material. Next, use a suitable patching compound designed for pool surfaces, applying it into the crack with a putty knife to ensure a smooth finish. Allow the patch to cure according to the manufacturer's instructions, then sand it lightly if needed for a seamless appearance. Finally, reapply the diamond brite finish or touch up the affected area to match the surrounding surface.
To fix a crack in porcelain, you can use epoxy adhesive specifically designed for porcelain. Clean the crack thoroughly, apply the adhesive, and let it dry according to the instructions. Sand down any excess adhesive and polish the area for a smooth finish.
I general, the answer is yes. It the crack comes from the pool moving, and the gunite has cracked, then the gunite has to be repaired before the plaster. Sometimes opening up the gunite crack and refilling with concrete will answer the problem. If movement of the soil is the problem then that has to be fixed first. The soil getting excessivly wet and dry can mean that the pool will move, if it is only part of the pool then there will be a structuaral crack. Only opening up the crack will tell you whether it is a plaster crack or a gunite crack. A replaster is from about $2000 up and structuaral repairs from about $1000
To fix cracked wood effectively, you can use wood glue or epoxy resin to fill in the crack. First, clean the crack and remove any debris. Apply the glue or resin into the crack and clamp the wood together until it dries. Sand down any excess glue or resin for a smooth finish.
Find out where the crack or leak in the item is and then use underwater glue to seal the crack. To finish sealing up the snow globe use a silicone sealant around the base and then let dry for twenty four hours.

The answer would be entirely dependent on the type of pool (above ground, below ground) and the material it is built from (cement, fiberglass, etc.) and the type of defect (crack, chip, hole, stains, rust, growth, etc.)
Probably not most of these things give out at the joints eventualy, however it is just a matter of keeping an eye on it and redoing it every now and again.
To effectively fix cracks in plaster, start by cleaning the area, applying a plaster patching compound, smoothing it out, and allowing it to dry. Sand the area, apply a primer, and then paint over the repaired crack for a seamless finish.
