Remove the wiper arms from the car. Remove bezel (trim piece) under the wiper arms. disconnect the wiper motor from the connector arms and wiring. Remove bolts and the motor should come out. When installing a new motor make sure the motor is at the proper position of its wiping cycle so that the wipers will start and stop at the proper place on your windshield.

A 97 Chevy Cavalier can take standard 10w30 motor oil as it provides good all around performance. A lower viscosity oil is more desirable in cold weather.

The wiper motor is under the cowl where the wipers are. I is in its own little hole just above the master cylinder. Once you remove the wiper arms and pop off the cowl you will see it under there. I have a 95 and just did mine and it used 10 mm sockets. Good luck, kinda tricky to put it back in.
