I will just tell you it is difficult to do,You will need to take a lot of the front support items off to make it easy to reach,I did not,3 grown men ,2 are mechanics fought and twisted and Mae it work but took a long time and almost broke other things.Do it the right way by unbolting the radiator support and such.Be careful of the A/C lines.
Theres a support bar in front of the compressor that you have to remove which is easy to do. Take a ratchet with the appropriate size socket and put it on the nut on the pulley tensioner and turn to the right. you will then losen the belt from the pulley. when installing do the same as above but install the belt back on the grooves. It will take you 5 minutes to take off and put back on.
The SuperChip i installed in my 1990 oldsmobile toronado trofeo gave it 25hp more according to the dyno.
change the (pvc) valve
Yes in the '79 to '85 toronado's. You will need an olds 350 engine such as the ones put in the '79 toronado's.
This depends 100% on what engine it is.
There seems to be two parts to the water pump and the fan is what usually goes first. Olds. was smart enough to just male that part to replace only. I was replacing the alternator on my 91 and decided to replace the water pump part I was speaking of. It's cheap and easy to get to. Hope this helps in some way.
The trouble shooting codes are for people and dealerships who have a service manual for the car. Based on the code the service manual tells you what the problem is associated with and steps to diagnose and find exactly what the problem is.

Look up alternator change chevy venture van and do the same things
When replaceing the toronado engine, The intake and carb must come from a toronado or Riviera because it is lower. The 78 came with a 403. A 307 or 455 Olds engine will work also as long as you put the low profile intake on
Remove the alternator belt on your 2000 Oldsmobile. Disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the alternator. Remove the alternator retaining bolts. Put the new alternator on and reverse the process.
