Wallpaper placed over washable paint is a bad idea if the paint has a latex base. The latex will be dissolved by the glue in the wallpaper and it will not adhere very well.

What is the best way to clean kids wallpaper?

Check if the wallpaper is washable: Look at the manufacturerโ€™s guidelines or test a small hidden area by dabbing it with a damp cloth. For washable wallpaper: Use a soft cloth or sponge dampened with water mixed with a little mild dish soap. Avoid using too much water, which can damage the paper. Gently wipe the surface without scrubbing too hard. Use a clean, dry cloth to dab the wallpaper dry. For non-washable wallpaper: Dust the wallpaper regularly using a soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner. For light stains, try using an eraser or a dry cleaning sponge specifically designed for wallpaper.

Can you paint over wallpaper successfully?

Are you planning to paint over the wallpaper? Make sure there are no loose ends or bubbles in the paper. Latex flat or satin paint will work but you will see the seams in the wallpaper and the paint may cause the paper to lift off the wall. Better to remove the paper first for the best look and most durability. I had to paint over paper and decided to texture the wall first with a skim coat of plaster. Doesn't look bad but a LOT of work!

Will Wallpaper sizing work hanging wallpaper over wallpaper?

Will Wallpaper sizing work hanging wallpaper over wallpaperYes, but it has been my experience that you will never be fully happy with the results. I always remove old wallpaper prior to changing to a different wall-covering. It just makes for a better finished job. Note: If you decide to remove the old wallpaper I use white vinegar and warm water applying several coats, after removing as much of the "easily" removed loose paper.
