If you mean service engine light, then take off the gas cap and put it back on correctly. The fuel system is pressurized, if the cap is not on tight the check engine light will come on. At least three clicks.
Disconnect fuel fill hose. Remove skid plate [gas tank shield , 2 bolts on tank straps and lower tank some, disconnect 2 fuel lines [special tool] unplug elect. conn. at top of tank. Lower tank to ground. With brass punch [no sparks] tap lock ring counter clockwise [to the left] remove and tilt fuel pump out of tank...reinstall in reverse. Or cut a 8.5'' square hole above fuel tank behind rear seat...make access panel for next time...save your back...and armpits from filling up with gas! 23 gal tank full of gas is heavy.
blowback is caused by adding fuel to fast. the filler neck is not large enuff to allow air from the tank to escape as fuel is being put in tank. remedy this by filling fuel tank slower.you can also drive onto a wooden block with wheel closest to tank filler. this tips vehicle and helps air escape
The Malibu might have a problem with the vapor canister. If the canister is clogged up the fuel tank will not vent right and the car will be hard to start.
No.
EVAP tank vent solenoid stuck closed.Tank vent tube pinched or restricted.
Gas will bubble back when filling the tank if the gas is going in too fast. In most filler tubes for newer vehicles, there is a mechanism that prevents siphoning. If the gas gets trapped in this mechanism, it cannot handle the volume and it might spit some of it back.
if you get splash back when fuelling, u need to fuel slower so as the air being displaced by fuel in the fuel tank can escape past the fuel going in splash back , is simply a big air bubble moving out of the fuel tank we had a f250 pickup that did that we remedied it by driving rear right wheel onto a block while fueling. this tilted the truck away from filler and allowed air to escape more easliy
you fill gas in it
why does gas splash out when filling a 2002 chevy prism
I own a 1997 Plymouth neon and i work part time at a gas station. Normally the neons don't splash back, but for lots of vehicles it is normal. for instance the new Chrysler sebrings they splash back something fierce, that is normal. it all has to do with the way the line running to the tank and the tank are set up. My 95 neon splashes back too when the tank is low or near empty. I jus figure its cuz all that gas rushing into an empty tank all at once causes a big wave that comes back at ya. Pump it slow to begin with and it wont splash.
To my knowledge, most gas grills do not come with the propane tank. Most tanks can be bought for about 40.00, and filling it each time will set you back about 25.00(depending on the price of propane).
gettin the gas in
Filler neck to the gas tank
Gas tanks don't release air when refueling. When you remove the gas cap, any pressure in the tank is released. If you're referring to gas "spitting" back out when pumping, try squezzing the pump handle a little less to slow the flow of gas into the tank.
Fuel system cleaner should be added to your tank before filling up with gas.
Make sure the tank "vent" is not kinked or blocked.
