They have to be deep within the body so they can continuously pump oxygenated blood to major organs that lie deep inside the body. But sometimes, they transport deoxygenated blood (pulmonary artery), but they still must transfer that blood to the lungs fast. You're organs need the oxygenated blood so they can perform cellular respiration, that's the purpose of the circulatory system.
If arteries were as exposed as veins are, what do u think would happen if you got a cut? Our bodies try protect the major organs and vital parts from harm. Veins on the other hand aren't AS important as arteries therefore the body can take the risk of veins being more exposed. Examples: The sternum and rib cage protect our lungs and heart and our skull protects our brain.
Arteries do neither
The only arteries in the body that move deoxygenated blood away from the heart are the pulmonary arteries. Arteries are blood vessels.
They accompany arteries with a top hat and sometimes a walking cane...hope this helps
I bet he is buried 7 inches deep in your granpa's ass !
Because the arteries carry blood away from the heart.
Because the arteries carry blood away from the heart.
It's important for arteries to be buried deep within the body for their protection. A rupture or breach of an arterial wall can result in rapid and dangerous blood loss because the contained blood is under high pressure.
because if it is close to your skin it will be weasily wounded
arteries and veins are found throughout the body. arteries carry blood away from the heart and veins carry it to the heart
becasuse wounded to your skin
What arteries in your body don not cary oxygen?
The Related Links section has a link to a website that has a diagram of the arm.The bluish blood vessels visible when you look at your wrist are veins. The arteries are deeper and not located particularly near the veins. Gray's Anatomy has a transverse section of the wrist; if you look at it you'll see you'd have to cut fairly deeply to hit one of the arteries, and the other is buried behind a ligament.
THERE ARE 20 ARTERIES IN THE HUMAN BODY.
Arteries carry blood from the heart to the cells of the body.

Arteries are not close to the surface in most places on the body because they need to be protected. But there are many places, called endangerment sites, where they are close to the surface, so health care workers need to be cautious when working in these areas. Usually, in most place on the body arteries and veins are close together, so are nerves.
