The dragster needs a parachute in order to slow down at the end of its run. Brakes alone are not enough. Its the same thing as with the Space Shuttle when landing.

What connects the parachute to the dragster?

What force acts on a parachute of a dragster to slow it down?

Air resistance, also known as drag, acts on the parachute of a dragster to slow it down. As the parachute deploys and opens up, it catches the air and creates a drag force that opposes the motion of the dragster, ultimately helping to slow it down.

What effect does pulling the cord attached to the parachute valve have on Rodriguez balloon?

Pulling the cord attached to the parachute valve releases the parachute, which creates drag on the balloon. This slows down the balloon and helps it descend more gradually and safely.

What effect does pulling the cord attached to the parachute valve have on Rodriguez's balloon?

Pulling the cord attached to the parachute valve will release the parachute from the top of the balloon, causing it to deploy and slow down the descent of the balloon. This action helps reduce the impact and landing speed of the balloon when it reaches the ground.

When does a landing rocket reach terminal velocity?

It may unless it has an attached parachute

What are the action and reaction forces on the farcical of parachute when it is deployed?

When a parachute is deployed, the action force is the parachute pushing against the air resistance, creating drag. The reaction force is the air pushing back up on the parachute, providing lift and slowing down the descent of the object attached to the parachute.

What are the action and reaction force on the fabric of the parachute when it is deployed?

When a parachute is deployed, the action force is the air resistance pushing against the fabric of the parachute, and the reaction force is the fabric of the parachute pushing back against the air. This interaction creates drag, slowing down the descent of the person or object attached to the parachute.

Why the parachute comes down?

A parachute comes down because of air resistance. When the parachute is deployed, it catches the air and creates drag, slowing down the descent of the person or object attached to it. This gradual decrease in speed allows for a safe landing.

How is model CO2 dragster similar to real dragster?

A model CO2 dragster involves the same principal forces as a real dragster. A model CO2 has mass, thrust, friction and drag, which are also the main components of a real dragster.
