If the 1991 lumina's engine is the same as the corsica LT's, then location is pretty easy to find. In the back of the engine, located in the middle, a few inches down, should be a rubber hose about 3/4inches wide. This hose goes into a gromment in the valve covers. It should be easy to pull out by hand. At the end of the hose will be the pcv valve which should resemble a car cigarette lighter. Shake it. If it rattles then it should be okay to go. If it doesn't, then replace. Good luck. The following web address will lead you to an image of the engine and the area you will find the pcv valve in. http://img113.exs.cx/img113/182/pcv-valve.jpg
It will be back by the fire wall on the left rear side of the engine, towards the back side of the valve cover.
If your Chevy 350 marine engine misses at high speed, you might have an issue with the timing. This can be adjusted. You also may have an issue with the fuel filter or injectors. Spark plugs can do that also.
There is a resistor located in the blower housing. It may be under the dash on the left(passenger) side. It will have two screws holding it in and have three or four wires plugged into it.
Hey Dave==This does apply to the 305 since it is a chev engine. A 301 is a PONT engine and they have stops for the adjusting nuts. The 350 and 305 have hydraulic lifters and adjust as follows: Pull the coil wire so the engine won' start and bump the engine until the valves on #1 cylinder are both closed. Now turn the engine so the timing mark is on TDC. Adjust the following valves: INT 1-2-5-7 EX 1-3-4-8 Then turn the engine one turn so now it is firing on #6 cyl and adjust the folowing valves: INT 3-4-6-8 EXH 2-5-6-7 . When adjusting the valves, loosten the adjusting nut intil there is clearance between the rocker arm and valve end. Then tighten it just until there is no clearance{you can feel this if you turn the push rod while you tighten the nut} then turn the nut 3/4 turn MORE. This will compress the valve and the lifter will compensate. You can adjust them with the engine running but the oil goes EVEYWHERE and sometimes catches on fire. GoodluckJoe
Depending on if you do your own work or pay: Parts only start around $1500.00 if you have an engine already. Full turn key by a good 4X4 shop: $12,000 to $30,000 depending on what options, horse power and so on.
The canister vent valve is located in back close to the fuel tank. The canister purge valve is located up front on the engine. If you're looking for the purge valve, look for a black plastic vacuum line under the hood that has a green dust cap on it. Follow that black line back to the engine. It will be connected to the purge valve.
intake manifold
It has a timing chain.
Need to know what engine it has.
where is the shift solenoid valve (2-3) located on 2000 chev cavalier
Try replacing the PCV valve ( $ 3.00). It is located in valve cover. If they stick open it allows oil vapor to burn.
Follow the top radiator hose to the engine and you will see were it clamps onto a housing that's bolted to the engine. Remove that housing and it will be there.
The crankshaft sensor on a 1994 chev cavalier in located at rear of engine near firewall, just below the coil pack on a 2.2L (just above the oil pan. There is one screw and be careful there is an o-ring and very long end inside engine, it may break if you try to pry it out.
No it will not, not even close.
remove the hose and look into the housing the thermostate should be there
just to the right of the oil filter
If it has one it would be driven off of the accessory belt.
