Where can you get a growlithe?

You can find wild growlithe on Routes 201 and 202 while you have FireRed inserted into your DS (or DS Lite)'s GBA slot.

Otherwise, you will have to trade or migrate a growlithe from another game.

when you come out of lavender town on the west side past two trainers there will be a grass area with a fence around it and with trees you can cut down. in there will be able to find growlithes

Growlithe's area is unknown in both Kanto and Johto, so if you want to get one, go to the Trade Center in western Goldenrod City.
