Most (actually, all :3), are located along faults (long cracks in the earth) or by plate boundaries (where two plates meet) There are different types of boundaries, The strike-slip boundary is the one wich causes most of the earthquakes (A strike-slip boundary is where two plates are going in the opposite direction. They then rub against each other wich causes an earthquake!)
