Electronics products `new model year' is usually around June. Probably just before or just after would be the best time to look for the bargains available. Nothing wrong with a couple year old design either. I've followed the reviews on one particular manufacture and model DSLR for the past year, and finally made the choice to purchase the tried and true version. Being the newest product out on the market doesn't always translate into being the best that is available.
