Aluminous porcelain. Porcelain is a glass product with a crystalline internal structure. In this form, the aluminum oxide does not affect the translucency of the glass, but, rather makes it stronger and reduces the solubility of the glass.
Kaolin is the main type of clay in porcelain. Bone china is a porcelain body that has an inclusion of bone ash, calcined animal bone (calcium phosphate), which adds hardness and translucency.
