Hit your hazard lights, shut the engine off, then turn the key back to auxiliary or on so the steering wheel does not lock. If you shut the engine off immediately you will stop in about a hundred feet (more or less depending on speed). Forget the put it in neutral bullcrap it will just blow up the engine not to mention if the gas is down all the way you won't be able to put an automatic in neutral very easily.
Get out of the vehicle.
usually when a gas pedeal sticks its due to the gunk that's stuck in the throttle body. check the throttle body butterfly. if its hard to open then try cleaning all the gunk that's there. if that is all clear then try checking the cables for the gas under the hood
There might not be something wrong with the gas pedal, but with your knee.
Something is wrong
If vehicle has a carb. (not fuel injected) a normal condition. When you step on the gas pedal the automatic choke is forced to close allowing a richer fuel mixture so the vehicle will start .
Why do. 1998 gas pedal get loose
release the gas pedal
you should gently press the brake pedal and gently press the gas pedal, the increase friction will dry the brakes.....
Who told you that you should? You are not in a RWD vehicle racing are you?
False. If the gas pedal becomes jammed slip the shift into neutral, pull over when safe to do so, park the vehicle, shut the engine off then call for a tow truck or a mechanic.
You Should Take It To A Garage
Shift to reverse
Occasionally the gas pedal will have some resistance when you press it. You could check and lube gas pedal, gas cable, and throttle itself.
The gas pedal is on the right side as you are sitting in the car.
Take your foot off the gas and move it to the pedal on its side - the brake pedal.Take your foot off the gas and move it to the pedal on its side - the brake pedal.Take your foot off the gas and move it to the pedal on its side - the brake pedal.Take your foot off the gas and move it to the pedal on its side - the brake pedal.
