The Thundercats hail from the planet of Thundera (spelled ThunDERa in all of the officially released Thundercarts books of the period). The planet was destroyed, hence why the inhabitants had to make a mass exodus. Most of the ships carrying the refugees were destroyed but the Nobles of Thundera made it to a small planet called Third Earth (which in a Wildsorm comic, was revealed to be Earth in the future)
