Well, MDF is basically cheap wood, made from glue and misc wood shavings. Such as the stuff you get when you cut a piece of ply wood and find lying around all over the floor. It is normally fairly strong, but is has a tendency to start chipping pieces out after a while. It can be cut will normally any standard wood saw, but manufactures use Sawmills to cut them ergo that is where most of the sawdust its made with comes from. Hope this helps.i roxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx nooooooooob

I have just starting working with MDF
Straight cuts: table saw, circular saw, jig saw, pretty standard just remember to use a higher teeth count on the blades
Inside cutouts: jig and router
When working with MDF make sure you use respiratory and eye protection as the dust contains formaldehyde.
MDF wood is a type of wood made out of saw dust pressed and combined together it is a very cheap wood and can be used for many things.
Yes it is substantially higher priced because MDF is basically saw dust compressed together and warps much easier as plywood is just a thin sheet of wood so you know the quality is better.
MDF, or Medium Density Fiberboard, is made of compressed saw dust held together by resin. It is a very common material for mass-produced furniture because it is much cheaper than solid wood and sturdier than particle board. Because it is made from recycled wood and otherwise unusable wood scraps, it is also considered environmentally friendly.
