What is meant by the termform?

Form is an element of art that is three-dimensional and encloses volume. Cubes, spheres, and cylinders are examples of various forms.

It follows that a painter cannot use forms, since those are 3-dimensional. Sculptors can.
A chiaroscuro artist uses strong contrasts light/shadow. Through modulating the light they can create the impression of form.
