If your ABS light stays on you have a problem with the ABS and it is not functioning. Until the problem is fixed the light will remain on.
You could remove the ABS fuse but the ABS dash light will remain on indicating the ABS system is not functioning.
Yes the alero does have abs it was and still is standard in GM passenger cars. Now that we cleared that up the light is on because there is a problem with the abs unit usually this is caused by someone not familier with newer cars changeing brakes and simply prying open the calipers without opening the bleeders. If this has been done the abs unit is destroyed and needs replaced. Also there is a rotation scenser at each wheel and on or all could be damaged such as the wires have been cut in some way or the scenser is bad.
Your ABS (Antilock Brake System) is kicking in. It's working.
slack adjuster is the adjuster on the brakes of vehicles with air brakes. these are used to adjust and take the slack out of the brakes caused by usual wear on the brakes

Hey Brad No, They should be ok. GoodluckJOe
no only the EX had antilock brakes in 2004
true
Your brakes need bleeding. And if you have antilock brakes, you should take it to a shop to bleed them. It takes special tools to bleed antilock brakes. If you have regular brakes you can bleed them yourself. Could go into further detail but would take too long to explain. Refer to a repair manual. Note: bleeding antilock brakes without first disconnecting the sensor will damage the sensor and the antilock function will no longer work (learned the hard way, unfortunately).
2 wheel antilock brakes only work on the rear wheels, while 4 wheel antilock brakes work on all 4 wheels.
Anti Lock Brakes ABS = Antilock Braking System
They work great. Try it on ice compared to regular brakes. I am a certified mechanic and I was amazed. fb
