I have the same problem on my Mitsubishi Eclipse RS 1995. Seems to be a problem in Map sensor. I was also told it might be the ECU
Could be the timing, I have a 96 and a 95, when my 96 done that, i thought it was fuel filter or something of the sort, but it was that it had jumped time. Might be that your transmission is slipping... It happened with my '02 Galant. You would have to check for leaks, and may even replace the transmission fluid. spark plugs and wires may need to be changed, try that first You might need a new fuel filter, because the one you haave might be dirty
The cabin air filter is located behind the glove box, you need to remove a cover with 4 screws also. You can check this site where you can see pictures of how to do it. http://www.club3g.com/forum/maintenance/70904-how-change-cabin-air-filter.html
Sounds like the transmission filter is partially clogged. The colder temperature makes the fluid thicker and it flows less easily through the filter in cold temperatures. Have the transmission serviced. Change all the fluid and the filter. I would not recommend you have the transmission flushed as you more than likely have lots of miles on this vehicle. Flushing the transmission at this juncture may stir up trouble. Just drain and refill.
Does it stay stuck in first gear? or does it change and when it changes does it seem to wanna slip... if it does shift and it shifts smoothly it might be the kick down lever that's going to the transmission... sometimes they can become rusty making the vehicle shift at much higher RPMs then normal, making you think that its the transmission. If its not that then it might be the bands, or servos... im not a transmission exspert, but I do know somethings about them... Also, it might be the filter... sounds weird, I know, but always check fluid levels and filter as well, a clogged filter or old fluid can make the transmission seem bad, when its actually just the fluid and filter... lots of things to consider... thanks, hope ive helped.
In an automatic Eclipse, the transmission filter is located inside of the transmission. To change the filter, the entire transmission must be disassembled to reach it.
in the transmission!!!
The Mitsubishi Gallant does not have a removable transmission filter. It is found within the internal workings of the transmission itself.
There is no fuel filter located in line. The only fuel filter is located in the fuel tank.
Unknown
The transmission filter is inside of the transmission. The pan will have to be removed, then the filter can be changed. There is no drain plug on a transmission, the bolts have to be loosened, more on one corner so that the pan tilts and fluid drains over the low corner into a bucket or pan.
There is no cabin A/C filter for eclipse there is only the endeavor and the galant 04-07 that actually has the filter
Ur gonna need a funnel, and it goes thru the transmission dipstick located near the air filter sensor, left of the engine.
yes
I have a 2000 eclipse and its under the car to the left. The oil filter is near the passenger front tire. The transmission plug is on the drivers side so they are hard to confuse.
The filter is on the top of the transmission under the hood and unscrew just like an oil filter
It's on top of the transmission. Looks similar to oil filter.
