A clear quartz rock by itself actually isn't worth very much simply because it can't be used for many different things. You can often find little pieces of quartz rock in a store for around one to five dollars. However, if you are purchasing quartz for countertops in your home then it's a very different story. Quartz countertops prices can range anywhere from $100 to $120 a square foot - the difference is that it is shaped and in a useable form where as a rock cannot be used for much.

It's just like if a car didn't run it wouldn't be worth very much, but if you got it running the value increases substantially.
