In order to paint on PVC canvas you must prep the canvas by gently sanding some of the pvc coating off with a medium grit sandpaper. This will allow the paint to adhere to the PVC. Wipe the canvas clean and allow to dry before priming it. Once the primer is dry you can use acrylic paints to create your master piece.
The absolute majority of paintings are made with oil paint on canvas. Oil pain is nowadays bought in tubes, looks fat and oily but mor or less shiny when dry. Canvas is the type of cloth most often used to paint on.
Star with a well stretched canvas. Gesso or prime the canvas. Place your painter's tape firmly on the surface of the canvas. With the edge of an old credit card, carefully press the edges down. Do not over stretch the canvas or damage the surface. Apply your paint from the tape to the canvas (NOT from the canvas to the tape) give the paint time to set up but not dry completely. Remove the tape in a slow steady movement pulling down and toward the painted area... do not allow the tape to sag and mar the fresh paint or leave wet paint in undesireable places. Allow the paint to dry completely.
If on poster paper, it's usually dry within an hour.

Watercolour has a short drying time. It only takes minutes for the paint to dry. The time it takes for the water to dry is how long it will take for the paint to dry.

24 hours
Oils paints can take a long time to dry enough not to smudge. Though a skin quickly forms on the surface, thick paint may still be soft beneath, even months later. Only time will ensure the paint dries right through to the canvas. If for children, I would consider using acrylic paint, which dries very quickly.
At least a month to dry and another week to harden
Humidity affects the drying time of paint. Paint will take much longer to dry in humid conditions. In very humid conditions the paint will not set correctly and the finish will not look as good as it should.
it takes about 3 and a half hours to dry in a living room
A day or so- oil paint takes a very long time to dry
