Microsoft Paint, MS Paint for short is a program available with numerous versions of Microsoft Windows. The software allows the user to draw and design their own pictures using various effects and colours but also allows for photo editing. Microsoft Paint has it's own user help manual, located within the software, although visual demonstrations can be found on Microsoft websites as well as social media/video sharing websites.
Use of the graphics tablet (e.g Wacom's Intuos) depends on the manga author's preference. In Hoshino Kastura's (author of D.Gray-man) photo of her working studio, a gigantic graphics tablet that looks like a Wacom model can be seen.(source: D.Gray-man Official Fanbook Gray Ark page 226)In Sorachi Hideaki's (author of Gintama) photo of his working studio, there does not seem to be any computers in the photos.(source: Gintama Gonensei Official Fanbook 2 page 190~191)It is most likely that Anime creators use tablets since using computers is the de facto industry standard now. Sunrise Studio even use special keyboards in some situations.
I recently bought a Wacom Intuos Touch and Pen tablet. When I first got it, it worked perfectly, however, after a few days it really went downhill. I've had it for barely a month now, the lead is fine, and it doesn't need to be replaced yet, but sometimes when I'm drawing (don't know if it helps, but the drawing programs I use are PaintTool SAI and FireAlpaca) The pen worn't work. If I'm drawing something and need to move to a different area, the tablet doesn't register that I liften up the pen, and it still draws on the page, but with a very small size. I checked and made sure I had the latest software for my tablet, which I do, and I even reinstalled it, and it worked for a little bit, until I started to have the same problem again. It sometimes won't even register when I put the pen down, and won't draw or select whatever tool I need to use. I've looked online and I haven't had any luck, so I'm all out of ideas now.
