The wall behind the tile takes so much damage anyway youll probably have to replace the Plaster,rockboard,drywall,or whatever they used,so id take a diamond blade cutting between the studs set the depth so you don't hit pipes wires,ect it will come out in sections, then ya just have to get it off the studs use a prybar.and a hammer
i am doing a project like this myself and i recomend a crowbar, because when you make a hole through the drywall(see above) it will weaken the streangth of the tile over,and so on
