You place the loop of the needle over the armature bar coupling. This will be held in place with either a disposable rubber hat, or with a piece of paper towel to firmly hold the needle in place and to ensure that there is no play with the needle, which is to say that it will be loose and the needle with rattle around the armature bar coupling and it will make your line work and coloring look erratic. You will set the the bar so that the needles are on the bottom of the bar riding against the tube, not the other way around. Needles straight out of the pack are completely straight, and you will need to bend the bar of the needle a bit to make sure that the needles are completely against the tube. You will then wrap rubber bands around the machine and over the needle bar to make sure that the entirety of the needle is snug and moving around. This is something that you should know well before you ever tattoo a person, so play around on your own legs to get the feel of tattooing before you ever mark another person. Best of luck.
Experience primarily, but the type of needle factors too. Tattoo needles consist of anywhere from 1 to 30+ needles all grouped together, round needles have these in a round pattern, magnum have them in a line, diamond have them in a more open spaced round pattern and double stacked have them in two lines. The needle size reflects on the number of needles used to make the tattoo needle tip, so an 07 round would give you a smallish round mark, an 07 magnum would give you a reasonably wide line, and a double stacked would give you about the same width as an 07 round, but with the color packed in more and the lines clearer.
The more you experiment with the needles and get used to using the different sizes the more you will learn to understand what to use and when.
That would all depend on the size and the intricacy of what you are doing.
7 or 9 magnum or a 14 round for heavy filling such as tribal .......
to do the outline on a tattoo you need a needle called a liner for instance you could use a 14 round liner. now for shading you need a shader which is another kind of needle now you can use a 14 round shader or a 14 flat mag shader that answer your question and an p.s you can get a needle any size they can go as small as 1 all the way up to a 49 flat and so on
You can if you need to, but I would not recommend doing this for a whole tattoo. Not that there is anything wrong with it per se, but you are taking at risk unneeded trauma to the skin with this configuration as opposed to using a nice tight Round Liner.
Of course you can!But why even take a chance as cheap as they are get some new ones.
You use size B.use a 7 to 9 mag
a 7

They are for fine lines and detail that's in the tattoo you can also use this needle to do awhole tattoo for lines and shading without changing needles
ya, most likely, they use a needle
like the others
Any sewing needle will do. you can also use guitar strings and sand the with sandpaper to make them work.
That all depends on the size of the tattoo that you are doing, and what you are trying to accomplish whether it be soft shading, coloring, etc. If you are using disposable tube and needle combos, which you should, then the appropriate sized tip will be included with the needle. However, since you must ask I will take it that you are new to the game, so practice on your own legs before you ever tattoo another person and be safe. Best of luck.

For the most common size that you would be doing it in. Line it with a 3RL, and then do your edges with 5RS. Then do the middle fill with a 15RS. The bigger the letters, the bigger the shade needle size and in some instances, the liner as well.
Yes you can, just use a needle or guitar string just make the same action with the needle as a regular tattoo gun would (up and down)
