A helicoil kit will come with directions, special size drill bit, special size tap, helicoil install tool and the helicoil. First you drill out the hole with the drill supplied, tap the new hole with tap supplied, screw in the helicoil with supplied tool then snap off remaining tab and yes some metal ends up in the cylinder. If the metal scraps are steel you can withdraw most of it with a magnet if it's aluminum they will have to pass thru the system on their own.
Crisco smeared in the flutes of the tap will trap most of the metal shaving.

The spark plug gap for an AR135 spark plug on a 350 SBC should be set at .034 inches. This is equal to .86 mm so a spark plug set to .9 mm should work correctly.
find the right size helicoil and drill out the hole to the proper size and install
Do NOT use a helicoil. A good repair shop or machine shop will have the tools to install an insert which becomes a permanent repair. A helicoil will come out when the spark plug is removed and cause further damage to the cylinder head.

You have to get a helicoil and follow the instructions. A helicoil is a new set of threads that you install in the old socket. Hope this helps
If the spark plug is stripped, replace it, if the hole in the cylinder head is stripped, the first thing to do is run a tap or thread chaser through the hole, if that does not work, you will need a helicoil http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helicoil
DO NOT under any circumstances try to install a helicoil. Check with the machine shops or auto repair shops and find someone that is familar with BIG SERT. It is a special insert that is inserted into the spark plug hole. It is much more heavy duty than a helicoil. It requires special tools provided with the repair kit. The cost should be around $200.00 to $225.00. The spark plug and coil would be extra. It beats the cost of replacing the cylinder head.

The spark plugs in a Honda VTX 1300 can be removed by first removing the spark plug wire. Twist the spark plug out, using a spark plug socket. Reverse the process to install the new spark plug.
Could be a few reasons, and can't be pinpointed without me actually seeing it "in action". But here are the most likely reasons, in order of likleyhood: 1) Spark plug not tightened to proper specs. Fix: tighen plug to proper specs with torque wrench. 2) Spark plug "washer" bad or gone. Fix: Replace washer. 3) Spark plug seals bad. Fix: Replace spark plug. 4) Bad threads in spark plug hole. Fix: Retap, or "Helicoil" it. 5) Crack in head near spark plug hole. Fix: Replace head.
Many auto parts stores sell a helicoil thread insert kit that will replace the damaged or missing threads. The kit should include an installation tool that will reach down into where the spark plug was removed. The kit will have instructions on enlarging the stripped hole and creating new threads for the helicoil or steel insert. A new spark plug should thread directly into the new thread insert.
Remove the spark plug wires from each spark plug. Turn the spark plug out with a 5/8 deep well socket. Reverse the process to install the new spark plugs.
