first i would check your coil, if its good, check your ignition switch.
Check the brake light bulbs, one of them may not be installed correctly.
Check the neutral safety switch,it is located on the transmission or on the steering column ,under the dash.
the solenoid itself is probably bad, if not that probably the ignition switch I agree 100%, check the solenoid first then the switch.
several could bes. If there is no action, the engine does not turn, the rod running from the key switch to the ignition switch on the column could be broken, or the ignition switch itself could haved malfunctioned. If there has be work immediately privious to the problem, check for loose connection, expecially on the ignition switch.
Most likely its an Ignition Switch/Cylinder issue unless you know that you have an alarm system that has the ability to lock the ignition switch. Other issues is that it could also be the Tumbler. If its stuck, best bet is to either call a locksmith and have them check it out, or have it towed to a garage that you trust.
Check all the wire coming out of the ignition switch, make sure that theres no bare wire or shortage between them or to the body..If wires are ok, your ignition switch needs to be replaced.. the switch doesn't turn with the cylinder..
Switch or relay? The switch is in the dash to the left of the steering wheel. The relay is in the fuse box out in the engine compartment, check the lid of the fuse box to determine the relay location within the box.
first i would check your coil, if its good, check your ignition switch.
have you tried pulling the EFI fuse
Check your maintenance manual. It's in there.
go to auto zone and have them check it for you. its free
Type your answer here... Hello how do you reset the check engine light on a 2003 Toyota 4runner. Thanks
Because the ECU has detected a problem with the emissions system.
Same place you check the fluid level.
I would check the transmission safety switch. If it's faulty you will not be able to get your key out.
I was able to reset by holding odometer button down while turning off ignition switch and turning ignition switch to on and watching dashing go from 5 to 0 and the maintenace odometer resetting to zero.
