Arthritis basically comes with age and some have it worse than others. It can be genetic so even some children can have it. Old sports injuries, broken bones while younger or injuries from an auto accident in the past can leave you with arthritis. There is no known cure to date, but they are working on it.

Exercise and good eating habits are a must and also taking certain fish oils. It won't stave off arthritis, but will make the person more limber and enjoy life a little more.

Rheumatoid arthritis is a sub grouping of autoimmune diseases causing joint pain and inflammation which can affect a person of any age. Babies can be born with RA, for example, as in the case of juvenile arthritis. What causes a rheumatoid arthritis is not yet understood, but there seems to be a genetic component. Alas, so far, there is not a known way to prevent rheumatoid arthritis. Early diagnosis and treatment are very important to help maintain joint and overall health.

The fact is that most forms of arthritis are incurable diseases and that we just don't know how to prevent them from happening. However for persons that have arthritis the main forms of treatment consist of various types of pain killers anti inflammatory's steroids and disease modifying drugs as well as exercise, lifestyle changes and joint replacements where required.

There are different types of arthritis and these are treated differently To date the only treatment available for arthritis is to reduce inflammation that causes damage to joints where possible reduce pain with pain killers and institute exercise and in some cases dietary regimes to help control the disease. However when it comes to arthritis there is not yet a cure.
Arthritis covers a wide range of different ailments, so there is no 'one way' to help. Most forms of arthritis consist of some form of inflammation that causes pain, and so one of the main focuses of managing arthritisis through the use of anti inflammatory's and disease modifying drugs .

One thing that it is important to remember is that there is no 'cure' - that is, there is no way of making it go away totally. There are thousands of websites out there offering 'miracle cures' for arthritis, but (and take it from someone who has tried many of them) they do not work!

The most common way of managing and treating arthritis is through the use of various medicines. There are many different ones, all doing slightly different things, so it is impossible to say there is a 'right' one. As with any medicine, consult a trained doctor before starting to take them.

Regular exercise is a popular way of managing many forms of arthritis. Arthritis sufferers have to be careful not to overdo it, however gentle exercise will strengthen the muscles around the affected joints, taking some of the pressure off of them.

Other methods include dietary supplements.

Gin soaked golden raisins are often touted as a popular way of relieving the pain of many forms of arthritis. There has been no scientific studies on the effectiveness of gin and raisins as an arthritis cure, however many people swear by it.

We don't jet fully understand what is the exact cause of most forms of arthritis ( there are more the 100 different forms of the disease) so aside from avoiding excessive stress on joints and bad muscle tone there is not much that can be done to prevent it.

The reasons for most types of arthritis is not understood, However there are treatments available to reduce the inflammation that is responsible for the damage done by many forms of arthritis.

Regular exercise (brisk walking is ideal), a good diet, and a glucosamine capsule every day (unless you are allergic to shellfish). There are no guarantees on never getting arthritis, but those three things can go a long way toward avoiding or minimizing it.
