This is typically determined on a case by case basis.
Short answer 'maybe'
It IS typiccally disqualifying if other conditions are also present (eg: heart murmur, etc)
This question can only be answered for certain by a military doctor at a MEPS or surgeon general.
Gather any and all medical records you can especially relating to the heart condition and bring them to a recruiter for your branch of choice. They can send them to a military doctor for review and determination. The answer can come back quick (a few days) or if it goes to the surgeon general it can take a couple of months.
If you are serious about the military then jump on this fast because it can take a while to complete the process due to additional medical tests that may need to be done.

Mitral valve prolapse may decrease the stroke volume, if it is associated with significant backflow. It decreases the effeciency of the left ventricular contraction.
Because there is much more pressure on the mitral valve.Mitral valve prolapse occur more often than tricuspid valve prolapses because the mitral valve is attached to the left ventricle by two chordae tendinae, whereas the tricuspid valve adheres to the right ventricle via three chordae tendinae. Thus, the tricuspid valve has more stability and is less likely to prolapse.
A sticky heart valve is another term for mitral valve prolapse. Mitral valve prolapse is when one of the mitral valves swings up towards the atrium when it opens causing blood to leak back into the atrium.
yes! i have it worse i have not only that but also mitral valve prolapse mitral regurgitation.
You are probably referring to mitral valve prolapse between the left atrium and ventricle.
MVP is the medical abbreviation meaning mitral valve prolapse
Class III refers to the degree of congestive heart failure, but not directly to mitral valve prolapse. Ask your cardiologist if you have any degree of heart failure as a result of mitral valve prolapse.
Mitral valve prolapse allows blood to enter into the left atrium. This often results in the valve not forming a tight seal.
mitral valve prolapse
yes they can
Definitely... I just did it.
