Heart attacks do hurt. It is when the tube that leads to your heart gets clogged. Then, your body cannot pump blood, so all of it rushes to your head and you see stars. Then you pass out.

I know this personally because I have had 2 heart attacks before. Be sure to check your cholesterol level AT LEAST every 2 years. Don't eat to many Hot Dogs, shrimp, Hamburgers or steak because they all ( and more) cause plaque build up and plaque is how the tube is clogged. I hope this helps and stay healthy!!

Please see the discussion page as what is said there is Important. It apparrently varies from person to person. I can only speak for myself & I am now 13 years beyond my first one, I have had two so far ! All I got was a pain in the chest, basically in the middle & both have happened at night, while I was asleep. Obviously the second time it happened I knew what it was, but the first time did come as a shock. The pain wasn't that debilitating, sure it hurt, but I could breathe ok & move ok and thought it was indigestion or something of a rather painful but trivial nature. I now take tablets for blood pressure & Cholestrol & a Beta Blocker. I get some slight Angina particularly in colder weather. I need to emphasise this is my own Peronal, Non-Medical training account. It is not a definitive answer. A medic can now do an ECG by putting a cap over your index finger & will soon know if your symptoms are life threatening: If in doubt, any doubt, call a Doctor Immediately. === === That's a good answer. While CVA's are something you'd work up in a hospital, you're the one who feels the symptoms and, if you're not a doc, you're the one who'll make the call. Most of the people that were slow to respond to their first heart attack weren't sure they had one. They didn't want to be dramatic, or spend the money. They also wanted to be WRONG. Knowing what to expect -- what it feels like -- is critically important.

you mean hurt? and you hurt in your heart and have a headache

Pain can be in any part of the heart or the major nerves running through it. Pain can follow nerves down the left arm or to the jaw. Pain to the back side of the heart can seem like muscle pull in the back muscles.

Heart pain comes from improper co-ordination of the heart muscles themselves. The heart can feel as if is beating too quickly or even when the rate is regular it can feel as if it's thumping too hard.

Not always, but there is usually pain involved. The might be stabbing or squeezing pain in the chest, between the shoulders, or down either arm (often the left arm). A headache is also common leading up to the attack.

Sometimes yes and sometimes not at all.

Most common is non-specific discomfort which is often undiagnosed.
