Dead battery. or perhaps a dead spark plug or distributor cap. Most likely a dead battery though.
Type of car would help. Coil, condenser on older cars, pickup in the distributor, spark control, igniter on Toyota's, rotor, fuse under the hood or fusible link, computer, timing belt broke. Lots of options.
