A syncline is a geologic structure in which the strata are bent into a downfold, like the letter U. The youngest rocks are in the center of the U and the oldest rocks are on the flanks. Synclines may be either symmetrical or asymmetrical. The opposite of a syncline is an anticline, with the folds upward. Both structures are thought to be formed when rock is deformed by pressure from mountain building.
They can be either. It is up to the painter.
symmetrical and asymmetrical
Yes - the letters A, H, I, M, O, T, U, V, W and X are symmetrical all the rest are asymmetrical. H, O and X are the most symmetrical as they show symmetry in two planes.
Folds are the when the rock layers bend. Faults are breaks in the rock layers. Folds are called anticlines and synclines. Faults are called reverse faults, normal faults, or strike-slip faults.
Symmetrical and asymmetrical are two types of balance in art and used to create balance in sculptures and paintings. Using contrast, which does not create balance in art, is a way of showing differences in color or shape as visual contrast.

the three main types of folds are anticlines, synclines, and monoclines.

Both anticlines and synclines are folds in rock layers formed by compression. Anticlines are upward-arched folds characterized by oldest rocks in the core, whereas synclines are downward-arching folds with youngest rocks in the core. They both result from tectonic forces squeezing and deforming the Earth's crust.
H2O is asymmetrical due to the bent molecular shape formed by the lone pairs of electrons on the oxygen atom.
Asics does offer shoes with asymmetrical lacing. The Gel Nimbus 11 has symmetrical lacing.
Folded layers of rock that form a wavelike pattern of troughs and crests are called anticlines and synclines. Anticlines are the upward-arching folds, while synclines are the downward-arching folds between them.
