another name for pressure wave is a P-wave
EDIT: Another name for P-waves or Pressure waves are Compressional, Longitudinal, P, Dilation waves. The particle motion is in the direction of wave propagation These waves occur in Solids, Liquids, and Gases whereas Shear, transverse, S, or equivoluminal waves only occur in solids.

∙ 11y agoIn physics, the "acoustic wave equation" governs the propagation of acoustic waves through a material medium.
That's why I think, a sound wave is also an acoustic wave.

Surface waves (as the name suggests) travel along Earth's surface. Seismic waves that travel through earth's interior are known instead as body waves.
when the surface of the sea is distributed, waves are produced. waves are seen moving on the surface of water but actually their movement is not extensive and the movement of water from one part of the ocean to another gives rise to currents.
The three types of seismic waves are: P waves S waves Surface waves ( two surface waves. Riley surface wave and love surface wave named after scientists
No. surface waves on the surface of water is transverse in nature. It has crests and troughs. Compression and rarefaction will be in longitudinal wave. example sound waves.
p wave comes first s wave comes next and last comes surface wave.
Surface waves
Another name for mechanical waves is elastic waves.
When waves bounce back off of another surface, it is called reflection.
Examples of transverse waves include light waves, water waves on the surface of the ocean, and electromagnetic waves like radio and X-rays. These waves oscillate perpendicular to the direction of their propagation.
Another name for foamy waves are, (braking waves).
Seismic waves.
"Vibrations" is another word that characterizes the way seismic waves move through the Earth.
Another name for radar waves is radar systems or electromagnetic waves.

another name for the dorsal surface in humans is posterior surface and for animals it is superior surface
Another name for surface runoff is overland flow.
