http://www.focushacks.com/index.php?modid=75 The link above will give an indication on how to proceed. However, be aware that the 15mm nut on the automatic belt tensionner must be turned counterclockwise to release the tension on the belt. Not much torque needed when correctly performed. When working from above the belt should be monted on all flywheels except the idler pulley. Whilst turning the belt tensioner (counterclockwise) push the belt down under the idler pulley and release the torque on the tensionner nut to complete the installation.
The ac belt has a tensioner that is accessed from below, and takes a tensioner tool to loosen. Remove the serpentine belt, release tension on the ac belt then the belt can come off for replacement.
The serpentine should route the same as with the AC except fro the AC compressor. The belt will go straight past the compressor, so you will need a shorter belt to make the bypass work.
Put the serpentine belt around the pulleys on your 2001 Chrysler LHS. Tighten the serpentine belt by pushing the tensioner pulley to the left. Tighten down the tensioner pulley and the serpentine belt will be tight.
The 2003 Dodge Stratus came optionally equipped in a 3.0L V6 engine. The first step is the disconnection of battery cables. Second, the serpentine drive belt can released and removed. Last, the two bolts holding the alternator to engine mount can be removed and replacement. The OE alternator for the 3.0L application is AC Delco #3341420.

Not sure ,but it costs $115 to change mine on my 1998 Dodge Durango.
You can do that by replacing the tensioner
Here it is:
by taking it to a mechanic
no!
The belt tensioner is self-adjusting.
Go to www.autozone.com and look under specifications, belt routing. On a 1989 Dodge Grand Caravan, the diagram is on the side of the engine where the S-belt is located.
There should be a diagram under the hood for that year.
Fit a new belt tensioner
No. The timing belt or chain connects to crankshaft and camshafts. The serpentine belt connects the crankshaft with the alternator, ac compressor, power steering, etc.
It is the item in the serpentine belt that is the lowest and furthest forward.
The belt tensioner is rotated clock wise with a 15 mm wrench or belt tool.
