Due to the large quantities required it was usual for the builders to use stone found close to the construction site. When this was not available as was case for some Middle Kingdom pyramids mud brick was used. The fine white casing stones used on the Giza Pyramids and elsewhere came from el Tura located on the east bank of the Nile. The fact that the river Nile was navigable made it possible to transport granite from the quarry at Aswan over long distances (400 miles or 644km in the case of the Giza pyramids).

The stone that was used to build the pyramids, particularly the Great Pyramid of Giza, was quarried from nearby sources. The limestone came from quarries along the Nile River, mainly on the east bank, while the granite used for certain parts of the pyramids came from Aswan, located further south. Workers would transport the stone using boats and sledges, taking advantage of the river's proximity to the construction sites.

Do you have Pictures of how a pyramid is built?

I do not have the ability to display images, but you can easily find pictures or diagrams of how a pyramid is built by doing a quick search online. Pyramids were constructed by stacking huge stone blocks on top of each other, gradually decreasing in size as they reached the top. Workers used ramps to transport the heavy blocks and place them in position, with the final layer typically being covered with smooth limestone casing stones.

How was the Egyptian pyramid built?

Thousands of workers spent years of hard work to build the pyramids. Farmers did a lot of the work during summer when the Nile River flooded and they could not farm. Surveyors, engineers, carpenters and stonecutters helped to build the pyramids. The first engineer who built pyramids was Imhotep who also served as an official for the pharaoh. The workers searched for stone in places throughout the Nile River valley or in Upper Egypt. After locating the stone artisans used copper tools to cut the stone into huge blocks. The workers used rope to fasten the blocks onto wooden sleds that were pulled along a path made of logs to the Nile River. The stones were then moved onto barges that carried them to the building site. There, the workers unloaded the blocks and dragged or pushed them up ramps to be set in place at each new level of the pyramid. The Egyptians faced many challenges as they built the pyramids, but these challenges, however, led to important discoveries. Each pyramid rested on a square-shaped foundation, with an entrance facing to the north. To find which direction north was the Egyptians studied the skies and developed an understanding of astronomy and with this knowledge, they invented a 365-day calendar with 12 months divided into 3 seasons. This calendar then became the basis for our modern calendar. The Egyptians also made advancements on math. Egypt's pyramid builders had to calculate how much stone was needed to build a pyramid and had to measure angles in order to construct a pyramid's walls. To be able to do this, they invented a system of written numbers based on 10 and and also created fractions, using them with whole numbers to add, subtract, and divide.

When were the great Pyramids of Egypt were built?

Probably around 2,560 BC, but some archaeologists debate it was earlier. The great pyramids of Giza were built during the times when Khufu was the pharaoh. He ruled over Egypt from 2551 BC to 2528 BC. Khufu had built the pyramids during 2560 BC. The pyramids took a period of more than 20 years to get complete from 2550 to 2530 BC and served as a tomb when Khufu died. Did aliens build the pyramids?

yes. this may sound crazy but trust me there is a lot of evidence that would point to this conclusion; the ancients were not capable of building such great monuments, even current technology could not reproduce them with the accuracy with which they were built. there is also no hieroglyphs anywhere on the pyramid, and Egyptians put hieroglyphs EVERYWHERE. the current theory about how and why the pyramids were constructed is not logical. supposedly the pyramids were built as tombs, but if that were so you would expect to find a mummy or something inside right? no such thing was ever found an any pyramid. also the pyramids they say had to be built in 20 years, so if you do the math for that the Egyptians would have had to place a block approximatley every 5 seconds. the final proof is simply that they said that they didn't build them, but that the "sun gods" came down from the sky and built them. for more information: Nassim Haramein on youtube
