A ziggurat typically contains a temple or shrine at the top, used for religious ceremonies and worship. Inside the temple, there may be offerings, statues of gods or goddesses, and sacred objects related to the beliefs of the people who built the ziggurat. The lower levels of a ziggurat might house storage rooms, living quarters for priests or religious officials, and areas for administrative purposes.
