no a v-8 will not adapt to a 2.8 transmission...due to a metric size... but a 4.3 transmission will bolt up to any chevy v-8
Anything is possible, but that would not be easy. You would need a transmission, transfer case, and drive shafts that matches up to the Chevy. You would also need to adapt everything under the hood from a Jeep to fit a Chevy motor.
The Rocket 350 oldsmobile engines will bolt in as well as the Rocket 455 olds.
Anything is possible. I don't think the bolt pattern matches. It probably would be easier and cheaper to use the modern Dodge engine and transmission then adapt the original push button shift mechanism to the transmission.
There is no such thing as a 1966 GTO Judge. This model was available in the model year 69, 70, and 71. Also the engine will fit in the engine bay, however all the mounts with need to be changed. Adapt mount kits are available from Summit Racing I believe. Also, depending on which transmission you intend on using, the engine will NOT bolt up to a Pontiac trans, however, again, adapt kits are available. Ask for a B-O-P adapter (Buick-Olds-Pontiac).
Maximum Adapt and Long Shift
P1942 Transmission adaptation, On a Dodge Durango the ambient temperature sensor is used by the DPLV, heated oxygen sensor circuit and a transmission fluid temperature sensor , If the ambient temperature is not rational in regards to the engine temperature sensor the transmission temperature will adapt to a substituted temperature value, this in turn will effect the 2-3 shift points on the transmission,
The Buick Grand National, 86, and 87, came that way, so yes.
Advance adapters makes a kit.
The 1999 Monte Carlo has a 4T65E transmission that has no vacuum modulator, This transmission uses an EPC solenoid to control pressure, and commonly goes bad causing a harsh 1-2 upshift, pump whine and a check engine light with code P1811, max adapt.
yes it will work. i heard it wouldn't work but it will. i just done it last night. mine is a 93 Chevy c1500 and the transmission came out of a 2003 Chevy silverado. i had to use the fly wheel off of a newer style 4.3 liter and i had to adapt the speedo plug- it will not change with out the speedo plug hooked up. don't listen to the people that say it wont work cause i know for a fact it will at least in a 2wd. the ones that say it wont work probley never tried it any way.
