Anything over 6500 would be rolling the dice.
it doesnt sound orthodox but cut the tach wires to the dash, it worked on my 94 with a 350.
On the main bearings, you should fall between .001, and .003. If it is high performance, and you are going to rev it, go .002. Looser will rev.
5800 RPM
U need a cdi that has no rev limit
Turn off radio and eject on cassette player. Then press seek rev for hours and seek fwd for minutes.
carb problem my guess would be accelerator pump or stuck power valves in carb.
5800 rpm's
On obd2 the rev limiter is in the ecm and works by dropping off cylinders to maintain rev limit.
there is a rev limit setting in the ecm so you dont over rev the motor
Hack the PCM. Removing or changing the rev limiter value in the prom.
Yes if your in park or neutral
