The 8-1 compression 3.4 litre engine had Lucas 40576/B and the 9-1 3.4 litre engine came with Lucas 40617 A/D. The XK 150 S also was offered with three different distributors. The 3.4 litre 9-1 engine had a Lucas 40616 A/B distributor, the 3.4 litre 8-1 engine had a Lucas 40670/A and the 3.8 litre 9-1 engine utilized the Lucas 40617 A/D. All of the above distributors were model DMBZ.6A. I have a very clean 40617/A distributor asvailable if you are interested. Bill WhiteJacksonville,Fl.

If it is a early model HEI. Then the inginition coil is bolted into the top of the distributor cap.
Depends on the car. Ask a mechanic or buy a service manuel for your make and model of auto.
On the 2000 model it is part of the distributor and you either replace complete distributor or try to dismantle the distributor and replace sensor only.
