I believe the early 1963 and 1964 292 engines had forged cranks, but if I remember correctly, they only have 6 counterweights. Crankshafts after that were cast, but they had 12 counterweights to smooth them out. You still have to be careful on how much RPM you subject either crank to, but things like zero-balancing and fluid dampers give the engine a better chance for survival over 5K RPM.
Casting number sites on the internet can give you specific number and specific years.
yes it dose have ( trw ) one eye brow forged pistons !!!! cant remember about the crank... Yes it is a steel crank.
Forged steel
how do you replace wiper crank arm 2001 chevrolet impala?
nope. the 440 with six pack rods and a forged crank used a different amount of balance than a 440 with a cast crank. the 440 with a forged crank and normal rods was internally balanced and the 360 had a different balance as well.
i pretty shure they make 195 or 196
That year did not USE a Crank sensor.

The 1999 Chevrolet Alamo crank shaft position sensor is located on the back of the engine. You will need to remove the rear engine cover in order to access the crank position sensor.
