This would depend on whether the model you are looking to buy is readily available and more importantly what the condition the model is in. A mint condition model is going to be substantially more expensive than a model which may have paint chips missing or is damaged in some way.

I've yet to find one source that consistantly has Lesney Matchbox cars in good condition for sale at reasonable prices.
