In simple terms, two things.

One, that if a species is placed in a situation where it must either adapt or die, only the strongest of the species will adapt and survive. The weaker of the species will die. This also applies to groups of species in competition - the stronger will live, and the weaker will die, hence, "natural selection."

Two, that, based on the natural selection and natural adaptation principles above, humans could not have been the way they are from the beginning of life on Earth. They evolved from another species, being an end result of a prior species' adaptation to their situation.

(For the record, and for any who stumble upon this, Darwin NEVER said that we evolved from chimpanzees. He stated that humans have a common ancestor with those lovable - but dangerous - monkeys. And, as any well-rounded scientist should, he never stated that the above was fact, hence why it is a THEORY of evolution and not a LAW of evolution.)

Darwin's theory of evolution, also known as natural selection, posits that species evolve over generations through the process of selection of advantageous heritable traits. This theory explains how organisms adapt to their environments and how new species arise through the accumulation of small, gradual changes. Darwin's work revolutionized the field of Biology and has had a lasting impact on the understanding of the diversity of life on Earth.

What best describes evolution?

Evolution is best described as a process by which organisms mutate and are thereby "selected" by nature as being fit for their particular niche. Mutations that serve no benefit are selected "against," and thus those organisms die and fail to propagate spawn. Mutations that benefit the organism and increase their ability to survive are selected "for," and result in a "next" or "new" evolutionary species.

What best describes which branch of anthropology?

Physical anthropology focuses on the study of human biology, including evolution, genetics, and the variation of physical traits among different populations. This branch of anthropology seeks to understand human origins, development, and adaptation to different environments through the analysis of biological data.

Why is human evolution false?

Human evolution is supported by a large body of scientific evidence, including fossil records, genetic studies, and comparative anatomy. The theory of evolution explains how species, including humans, have changed and diversified over time through natural selection and genetic variation. It is widely accepted in the scientific community as the best explanation for the diversity of life on Earth.

Which best describes the statements related to the origins of humans?

The origin of humans is a topic of study in the field of anthropology, seeking to understand the evolutionary processes that led to the development of Homo sapiens. Evidence such as fossil records, genetic studies, and archaeological finds contribute to our understanding of human origins, with the prevailing scientific consensus supporting the theory of human evolution from earlier hominid species over millions of years. The study of human origins continues to evolve as new discoveries and technologies provide further insights into our evolutionary history.

Where could a person go to get information on the evolution of man online?

You can find information on the evolution of man by visiting reputable websites such as the Smithsonian Institution's Human Origins Program, the National Museum of Natural History, or the American Museum of Natural History. These sites provide access to articles, research papers, and interactive exhibits that detail the evolutionary history of humans.

Which one of the following statements best illastatues one of Darwins theory of natural selection?

The statement "organisms that are better adapted to their environment are more likely to survive and reproduce" best illustrates Darwin's theory of natural selection. This concept highlights the idea that individuals with advantageous traits are more likely to pass on their genes to the next generation, leading to the gradual evolution of populations over time.

What can you concluded about the theory of evolution from the evidence that you have gathered?

That the theory of evolution by natural selection fits the facts of evolution. The theory of evolution by natural selection is based on myriad lives of converging evidence and is the best explanation we have for the adaptive changes leading to speciation in populations of organisms.

What were Darwin's best arguments in favor of his theory of evolution what were the most serious objections to it?

Darwin's best argument in favor of the theory of evolution was natural selection. The most serious objections came from religion.

Why is it the Darwin theory natural selection is nice?

Nice? The theory of evolution by natural selection is the best and best supported explanation for the fact of evolution we have, but it just is and a word such as " nice " would not always fit theory. Google Ichneumon wasp to see that natural selection is not always " nice. "

What process did Darwins book suggest that organisms evolve through?

Darwin's book "On the Origin of Species" proposed the process of natural selection as the mechanism for evolution. This theory suggests that organisms with traits best suited to their environment are more likely to survive and reproduce, passing on those favorable traits to their offspring. Over time, this process leads to changes in the characteristics of a population, which can result in the evolution of new species.

Responding to someone that states he or she does not believe in biological evolution because it is a theory?

The best way to respond to this is to explain that there is the fact of evolution and the theory of evolution. Evolution is defined as genetic change within a population. This is an easily observable fact both in nature and the laboratory. The theory of evolution is an explanation for the diversity of life on earth based on the observable facts that evolution does indeed occur. It is exactly the same situation with gravity. Gravity is a fact, an easily observed physical phenomenon. But there is also a Theory of Gravitation, an explanation for the phenomenon itself and how it works. That there is a theory for both evolution and gravity does not mean the facts of evolution and gravity are any less true.
