The animals felt they needed the seven commandments so order would be brought to the farm. The commandments would tell them what was and wasn't allowed.
There are seven commandments in the beginning of Animal Farm. At the end there is only one commandment and that is, "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others."
The other animals in the farm started to get a little suspicious every time it seemed like the pigs broke the Seven Commandments (i.e When Clover thinks that it was one of the Seven Commandments that no animal shall kill another animal.) So then the pigs had to make up some story that would sound persuasive and make the other animals believe that the rules had not been changed, it was just that the animals weren't smart enough to remember.
As Clover often suspects the pigs violating one or another of the Seven Commandments, but she repeatedly blames herself for misremembering the commandments.
The Seven Commandments are: Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy. Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend. No animal shall wear clothes. No animal shall sleep in a bed. No animal shall drink alcohol. No animal shall kill any other animal.
Animalsim is basically the government or religion that the animals base their daily lives off of. So in other words it resembles the Seven commandments
The constitution has amendments. The bible has commandments. 10 of them.
The Seven Commandments of Animal Farm are as follows: 1. Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy 2. Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend 3. No animal shall wear clothes 4. No animal shall sleep in a bed 5. No animal shall drink alcohol 6. No animal shall kill any other animal 7. All animals are equal The commandments change over time to suit the needs of the greedy, power hungry leaders (Napoleon, Squeeler, etc). The saying goes 'Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely'. When the pigs discover the wonder of alcohol, they add in excess to the fifth commandment. When Napoleon discovers the comfort of a bed, the fourth commandment is changed to No animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets, and so on
THE SEVEN COMMANDMENTS 1. Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy. 2. Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend. 3. No animal shall wear clothes. 4. No animal shall sleep in a bed. 5. No animal shall drink alcohol. 6. No animal shall kill any other animal. 7. All animals are equal.
Napoleon
The original Seven Commandments were:Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy.Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend. No animal shall wear clothes. No animal shall sleep in a bed.No animal shall drink alcohol. No animal shall kill any other animal. All animals are equal.Later in the novel, Napoleon has Squealer secretly paint over some of the Commandments to benefit the pigs without arousing suspicion that they were breaking the laws. The revised Commandments were:Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy.Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friendNo animal shall wear clothes. No animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets. No animal shall drink alcohol to excess. No animal shall kill any other animal without cause. All animals are equal.Eventually, Napoleon replaces all of the Commandments with "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others."
