There are several reasons why a female dog may be biting her tail. It could be due to Allergies, skin irritation, parasites, anxiety, boredom, or a medical issue. It is important to consult with a veterinarian to determine the underlying cause and appropriate treatment.
No you can't. They'll start crying and start biting you.
If your dog won't stop biting its tail, you can try a few different things. First, examine the tail to see if there is something wrong with it, such as a flea bite or other irritant/injury, that could possibly be causing your dog to bite the area. If there is a flea bite, treat your dog and home for fleas, including a flea prevention product. Most dogs will stop biting at fleas at this point, however some dogs are allergic to fleas and continue to itch or bite the area. Two of my dogs have flea allergy dermaitis and I have had success using a hydocortisone spray from petco w/ aloe vera. If your dog's tail is not injured aside from the dog's biting, then it is a behavioral problem. Make sure your dog gets at least 30-45 minutes of walking and 15-30 minutes of playtime each day. Then he ought to be too tired to bite his tail. If he still bites his tail, sit in front of him with a really yummy treat and dangle it in the air til he stops biting his tail. Then give him a piece of the treat. It should be yummy enough that he doesn't go back to biting his tail but instead fixates on you. Praise him and treat him for not biting his tail and if possible teach him an accepted behavior such as sit or down. then when he is biting his tail, get the treat and ask for the new accepted behavior i. e. Sit. Do this 1-2 times every day, for 5 min, for a least 21 days. Eventually, you won't need the treat and he will stop biting and just sit. Good luck!
Your male dog may be trying to mate with your female dog since it's the mating time for them. If that were the case, your male dog would be afraid of other things (including people) encroaching on its potential mate. Therefore, it would be extremly protective of the female. Which means biting.
It means they are getting ready to MATE
If the biting happens, the male may be aggressive, or the female has a scent of another dog that he doesn't like. It could also be an indication that the male likes the female.
it is to show dominance over the other dog.
Male dog diapers typically have a hole for the tail and are designed to wrap around the belly, while female dog diapers are shaped to fit around the hips and have a wider coverage area to accommodate the anatomy of a female dog.
sounds like you have a male guppy harrassing a female. Simply go and buy a few more female guppies and that way the male will have more than one female to harass.
I can give you several sentences. The fleas were biting the dog hard enough to make it yelp. She made a biting remark and hurt his feelings. Are the fish biting today?
are you sure its your female biting your other female? because males bite the the back of the females head when there trying to mate.
Yes, a dog has a tail.
No, pulling a dog's tail can cause injury and pain, but it is unlikely to kill the dog unless the force and resulting injury are severe. It is important to treat animals with care and respect to avoid causing harm.
