It is called a no-kill shelter
There are many benefits of animal adoptions both to the human and the animal. The main benefit of adopting an animal from a shelter is saving the animal's life because animals are put down in shelters.

animal shelters try their best not to put animals down due to overcrowding. I have never heard of any shelter putting animals down for this reason, if they have too many they put good home wanted notices in papers and the internet. But, Depending where you are....They do put them down alot due to overcrowding.......Where i live,They put alot down each week.....I have to agree of what they should do....Put notices up...But most shelters just put them down...Its really truly sad :(
About 20 in each shelter across the US. In a year, 3-4 million.
the first option is for the animal to live live with the convicts family or friends, if this is not possible, it is put into a animal shelter
Its when your pet dies by a vetranarian puts a shot into the animal and it falls asleep and never wakes up (uthinize). That was the bad thing. There is another one where the animal needs surgery and needs to fall asleep to do so.
Put rectangular pieces of cardboard on the sides of the box and then change then everyweek.
there are kept for a week or 3 days then put down
Pounds put dogs to sleep because there is either over crowding of dogs in the shelter or pound or the dog is sick and can't be helped so they put it out of its suffering. I don't like the idea of putting down a dog that is perfectly healthy or any animal for that matter but they do it anyway. This is the best answer I can give. Hope it helps. And that the dog could be to mean. And they unfortunately, can't do anything for the case but put them down.
