These hills are likely drumlins, formed by glaciers depositing till as they advance and retreat. The asymmetrical shape is typically smoothed on the side facing the direction of glacier movement, and steeper on the other side. Drumlins are common in areas shaped by past glaciation, like parts of North America and Europe.
