What do rhinoceroses look like?
A rhino is a large (1500kg-3500kg), grey, thick skinned
(paciderm) mammal. It has a maximum height of around 1.7 metres and
is around 4 metres long. The rhino's head is long and elongated
with eyes at about mid-point between its nucal hump (neck muscle)
and lips with relativaly large ears.On the front of the rhinos
skull are two horns, the one in front is much larger than the
second. This animal is found through out southern Africa and India.
The rhino is an odd-toed ungulate with short stuby looking legs and
can gain speeds of up to 35km an hour.
