I believe it would be an alligator. Alligators like the taste of humans rather than other animals noted as "deadly" who do not care for our taste. Rather than Large animals, A poisoness frog would be very dangerous in South Africa, and as of insects and Spiders the black widow and brown recluse are highly venomous. My mother almost gave her life to a brown recluse on a quick hiking trip.
Well technically the most dangerous animal to man would be man. Nothing kills humans more than other humans, through disease, war, other man made poisons(alcohol, drugs, and tobacco).
As for the wild animal kingdom, the animal that's responsible for the most human deaths is the mosquito. In the United States mosquitos are mostly harmless but in Africa they can carry diseases like malaria that bring the death toll up to 2 million in just a year!
Next in line is snakes, obviously only the 3 main groups of venomous snakes, Agkistrodon (Cottonmouth, Copperhead), Crotalus (Rattlesnake), and Micrurus (Coral).
They're responsible for over 100,000 deaths per year. Although they only attack when provoked so they can be avoided as long as you're careful. Mosquitos are nearly impossible to avoid, you're only defense is vaccinations, bug spray, and bug nets.

No, the largest animal is the blue whale.

Malaria is the biggest killer in Africa, causing over 400,000 deaths annually. It is transmitted through mosquito bites and disproportionately affects children under five and pregnant women. Controlling mosquito populations and improving access to prevention methods like bed nets and effective treatments are key strategies in combating malaria.
