How many haflingers are registered in the UK?

Since the British Society was started back in the early 1970's around 1800 Haflingers have been registered over the years. There are many more 'Haflingers' in the UK but sadly many of those imported from the continent do not qualify for registration with the British Society. All animals registered in the UK have to be 100% purebred Haflingers, with their pedigree traceable through many generations to proove bloodlines. All are in line with the Breed standards of the 'mother' stud book in North Tyrol, Austria. Many countries abroad have allowed a percentage of Arab blood as well into their stud books but this means the horses would be classified as 'part-bred' here in Britain.

How do haflingers communicate?

All horses, regardless of breed, gender, or color, communicate in the same way. They use body language and vocal communication.

How big can hores get?

I would say up to 30 hands high. I've seen haflingers about 21 hands high. Those must be New York hores.
