Francisco Pizarro and a few hundred men took the Incan emperor, Atahualpa, Hostage in his own kingdom and later took hold of the Incan Empire.

The Incas had a dynasty with 14 or so emperors. Probably the most famous of these was the 11th Emperor Pachacuti who vastlty extended the empire's control. The Incan Emperor who had the misfortune of encountering Spanish Conquistador Francisco Pizarro was Emperor Atahualpa.
In 1532, the leader of the Inca was Atahualpa. This emperor of the Inca was seized on his way to Cuzco by the Spanish under Francisco Pizarro. He was executed in 1533.
